Georgia State’s Corey Allen named Sun Belt Men’s Basketball Player of the Week following back-to-back 20-point outings to open 2021-22 season.

Panthers senior guard Corey Allen averaged 22.5 points, 3.5 rebounds and 3.5 assists per game, propelling Georgia State to a pair of victories over Brewton-Parker and Northeastern. Allen, a Preseason All-Sun Belt First Team selection, opened his senior campaign with a 20-point, four-rebound effort in just 23 minutes in a 97-37 win over Brewton-Parker. The Ypsilanti, Mich., native then added 25 points and six assists in an 83-64 victory over Northeastern. Allen shot 53.3 percent from the floor, 53.8 percent from 3-point range and 1.000 percent from the free throw line over the two-game span.
