FHS’s Crain runs 3rd in district, team takes 2nd in meet

Franklinton’s Andrew Crain came in third place in the 2021 District 9-4A Cross Country Championships that were held on Wednesday at St. Thomas Aquinas.
Crain ran the three-mile race in 19 minutes, 52 seconds, as 12 runners competed.
Two more participants ran for Franklinton in Kael Boyle and DJ Cockern.
Boyle came in seventh with a time of 20:12 and Cockern ran a 21:46 to take 10th.
Lakeshore runners had three of the top five spots.
Lakeshore’s Alexander Babin won the race in 18:08.
Teammate Elijah Entrekin was second in 18:59.
Lakeshore’s Andrew Gourgues came in fourth at 20:25.06 with Pearl River’s Malachi McGuay rounding out the top five with a time of 20:25.75.
Franklinton was second in the meet.
