Georgia Southern’s Carr, Coastal Carolina’s Arafi earn Sunbelt Golfer of the Week nods

After recording top two finishes, Georgia Southern’s Ben Carr and Coastal Carolina’s Tiffany Arafi earned Sun Belt Golfer of the Week nods. Both Carr and Arafi have yet to finish outside the Top 10 this season.
Men’s Golfer of the Week
Ben Carr, Georgia Southern)

Senior Ben Carr, the 2021 Sun Belt Conference Championship individual medalist, capped his fall season with back-to-back Top 10 finishes. The Columbus, Ga., native shot 4-under par 206 (69-70-67—206) to tie for eighth in the 80-golfer field at the Fighting Irish Classic. Carr then picked up the third individual medalist honor of his collegiate career with a 13-under par 203 (68-69-66—203) in the 93-golfer field at the Bank of Tennessee Intercollegiate. His 13-under par 203 is the eighth-lowest 54-hole score in Georgia Southern program history.
Women’s Golfer of the Week
Tiffany Arafi, Coastal Carolina
(Sr. – Birsfelden, Switzerland)
Senior Tiffany Arafi set one program record and tied another en route to a runner-up finish in the 75-golfer field at the Evie Odom Invitational. The Birsfelden, Switzerland, native tied the Chanticleer program record with a 5-under par 205 (71-64-70—205) to earn her second-straight top four finish. Arafi’s second round 6-under par 64 was also a Coastal Carolina program record.
