Lions finish 2nd, Lady Lions 3rd at Nicholls Invitational

The Southeastern Louisiana University men’s and women’s cross country teams placed second and third in the team standings Saturday morning at the Nicholls Invitational at Manning Fields.

In the men’s 4-mile race, SLU had four finish in the top 10 led by Bradley Makuvire. The Zimbabwe native won for the second straight time after his victory at the LSU Invitational back on Sept. 17.

Julius Kemper, Noah Kipotrich, and Thomas Daigle finished fourth, seventh and eighth for the Lions as the team finished behind Tulane

In the women’s 5k, Bernadette Tournoux finished eighth in the women’s race as the Lady Lions placed third behind Tulane and Nicholls.

Next up, Southeastern will compete in the Watson Invitational hosted by Mississippi College Saturday, Oct. 9 in Clinton, Mississippi.
