After registering back-to-back Top 10 finishes, Texas State’s Fabian Sunden and Troy’s ShaeLee Scarberry claim Sun Belt Golfer of the Week accolades.
Men’s Golfer of the Week
Fabian Sunden, Texas State

Senior Fabian Sunden, the 2021 Sun Belt Newcomer of the Year, opened the 2021-22 season with back-to-back Top 10 finishes. He shot 3-over par 219 (69-74-76—219) to tie for sixth in the 75-player field at the Lone Star Invitational. The native of Sweden then carded a 5-under par 211 (67-77-67—211) to place third in a 90-golfer field at the Graeme McDowell Invitational. Sunden’s two rounds of 5-under par 67 are a season-low.
Women’s Golfer of the Week
ShaeLee Scarberry
(Jr. – Purcell, Okla.)
Junior ShaeLee Scarberry registered a pair of top four finishes in consecutive tournaments for the Trojans. The Purcell, Okla., product shot 2-under par 214 (73-71-70—214) to finish as the individual runner-up in the 69-golfer field at the Hoover Invitational. A 2-over par 218 (72-73-73—218) showing at the Sea Best Jacksonville Classic was good for a tie for fourth in the 50-player field. Over six rounds in the reporting period, Scarberry shot even par.
