Bowling Green goes 1-2 in softball in recent games

Bowling Green School’s Lady Buccaneers went 1-2 in games that were held on Monday, Tuesday  and Thursday.

On Monday, K.K. Seal hit a walk-off sacrifice fly in the eighth inning that plated Anna Claire Crowe, who singled, to break a 12-12 tie in a 13-12 win over Columbia Academy at home.

Seal scored a run and had the run batted in.

Crowe went 3-for-5 with two runs scored.

Albanie Fussell recorded four hits, three runs scored and two RBIs.

Kylee Burris drove in four runs in a two-hit day that included a double.

Maddie Thomas singled twice, drove in two runs and scored a run.

Hallie Serigne posted two hits and two runs batted in.

Cassidy Spears tallied a hit, an RBI and three runs scored.

Katherine Burris singled, drove in a run and scored two runs.

Grace Savarese scored a run.

On Tuesday, Bowling Green was defeated by Brookhaven Academy, 11-1 at home.

Crowe recorded two hits.

Spears posted a hit.

On Thursday, Bowling Green was defeated by Amite School Center, 8-5, on the road.

The game was tied, 5-5, through four innings, but Amite School Center scored three runs in the fifth to go ahead, 8-5. The teams played a scoreless game over the final two innings in the 8-5 contest.

Fussell homered, drove in three and scored two runs in a two-hit day.

Spears singled and doubled.

Crowe singled, drove in a run and scored a run.

Katherine Burris singled and drove in a run.

Seal and Elizabeth Wilkinson both singled and scored a run.

Kylee Burris and Serigne both had a hit.

Bowling Green School’s next game will take place on Sept. 25 against Copiah Academy in the South Class 5A Fast-Pitch Tournament at 10 a.m. The top four teams from the tournament will advance to the Class 5A Tournament.
