The Southeastern Louisiana University volleyball program travels to Brookings, S.D. this weekend for three matches in the Jackrabbit Invitational presented by the Super 8 of Brookings.

SLU (0-7) will face host South Dakota State (6-2) at 11 a.m. Friday and Drake (2-3) later that afternoon at 5 p.m. in Frost Arena. The Lady Lions wrap up their participation Saturday at 11 a.m. against Idaho (2-4).

All three matches will have a video stream and live stats provided. Links to each are available on the volleyball schedule page at www.LionSports.net.

The Lady Lions’ leading attackers this season are Cicily Hidalgo (3.11 k/set) and Karlee Wilkerson (2.26 k/set), a senior from Springfield. Hidalgo, a freshman from Opelousas, Louisiana, ranks second in the Southland Conference in kills.

Gracie Duplechein (5.48 assists/set), a freshman from St. Amant, Louisiana, and Ariana Hebert (3.61 a/set), a junior from Lafayette, have shared setting duties. Duplechein ranks fifth in the conference in assists and leads the team with five service aces.

Ansley Tullis, a sophomore libero from Slidell, leads the team with 4.04 digs per set, ranking fifth in the Southland. Hannah Brewer, a freshman outside hitter from Benton, Arkansas, ranks second in the conference in blocks (1.13 b/set) and Wilkerson (0.85 b/set) is 10th.

Southeastern, which is looking for its first win of the season, returns to action after dropping matches to New Mexico, UC San Diego and Seattle this past weekend at the UNM Classic in Albuquerque, New Mexico.

South Dakota State and Drake are both coming off a pair of wins this past weekend. The Jackrabbits defeated both Youngstown State and Valparaiso at the Blue and Gold Tournament in Toledo, Ohio. Drake knocked off Green Bay and host North Dakota at a tournament in Grand Forks, North Dakota.

Idaho has not played in two weeks, dropping two of three in the RMU / Chik-fil-A Robinson Labor Day Volleyball Classic in Moon Township, Pennsylvania the last time out.

UP NEXT

Following the Jackrabbit Invitational, Southeastern faces one final nonconference match, Tuesday at Southern Miss, before beginning its double round-robin conference slate, Sept. 25, at Northwestern State.
