Georgia State’s Brooklynn Fugel and Texas State’s Beth Agee recorded standout performances on the pitch against non-conference competition this past week to garner Sun Belt Women’s Soccer Player of the Week honors.

Women’s Soccer Offensive Player of the Week
Brooklynn Fugel, Georgia State
(Fr., Dacula, Ga.)

Panthers’ freshman forward Brooklynn Fugel scored her first collegiate goal in Georgia State’s 2-1 victory against Kennesaw State on Friday night. She followed that up with her second goal in her team’s 4-0 win against Mississippi Valley State on Sunday. Her goal vs. KSU came just minutes into the second half and gave the Panthers a 1-0 advantage. Fugel has helped her team to three consecutive victories.

Women’s Soccer Defensive Player of the Week
Beth Agee, Texas State
(So., Mansfield, Texas)

Bobcats’ sophomore goalkeeper Beth Agee started both of her team’s weekend matches and finished with 17 saves, an .895 save percentage and a 1.00 GAA. She made a career-high 11 saves at No. 13 Rice. Her save total in that match was the most by a Texas State goalkeeper in 14 seasons, ranks tied for fifth in school history in a match and is tied for the second-most in a contest this season by a Sun Belt keeper. She also became the ninth Texas State goalkeeper to surpass 100 career saves, doing so against the Owls. She followed that performance up with six saves in a win against Abilene Christian for her first career shutout.
