Troy’s Erin Bloomfield and Arkansas State’s Megan McClure earn Sun Belt weekly accolades after leading their teams to unbeaten records on the opening weekend of the 2021 women’s soccer season.
Women’s Soccer Offensive Player of the Week
Erin Bloomfield, Troy

Trojans freshman forward Erin Bloomfield netted all four goals in Troy’s two opening weekend matches. The Yeovil, Somerset, England, product scored the game winner in a 1-0 win over Nicholls State and recorded her first career hat trick in a 3-0 victory over Alabama A&M. Bloomfield boasts a .667 shooting percentage and leads the Sun Belt in goals (4) and points (8) in just 60 minutes played.
Women’s Soccer Defensive Player of the Week
Megan McClure, Arkansas State
(Sr., GK – Webster Groves, Mo.)
Red Wolves senior goalkeeper Megan McClure led Arkansas State to a 1-0-1 record, conceding just one goal over 200 minutes played on opening weekend. The Webster Groves, Mo., native made nine saves and conceded her lone goal on a penalty kick in a 1-1 draw at Washington State. She then recorded a clean sheet in a 1-0 victory at Eastern Washington—her program record 23rd career shutout. McClure posted a .909 save percentage and a .45 goals against average, while becoming the program leader in goalkeeping minutes played at 4,511.
