YMCA Golf Classic is Saturday
The 17th annual YMCA Golf Classic will take place on Saturday at the Bogalusa Country Club.
The two-person scramble costs $100 per golfer.
The fee includes carts, green fees, mulligans and lunch. Carts are limited, so if you have one, you are asked to bring it.
Registration will begin at 8 a.m. with tee time for 9 a.m. and lunch being served at 11 a.m.
This is the YMCA’s annual fundraiser.

Bogalusa Blues & Heritage Festival 5K Race is in September
The Bogalusa Blues & Heritage Festival 5K run/walk race will take place on Saturday, Sept. 25 at 8 a.m. in Cassidy Park
Early bird registration, which costs $25, will go until Aug. 31 at 11:59 p.m. After the deadline, the price goes to $30 through raceday. Day of the race registration and check-in are from 7 a.m. until 7:45 a.m.
Those who register by Sept. 6 are guaranteed a T-shirt.
Signups can also be done on www.eventbrite.com.
Group rates are $20 a person. Groups are 10 or more.
Group rates must be done by contacting Race Director Kristal Provost, which can be done several ways. Provost can be reached at 985-750-8456, email is kristal.provost@gmail.com or by messaging her through Facebook.
Diva Timing is the race’s official timekeeper.
Awards will be for first through third place in running and walking age groups.

Bogalusa 1975 State Track Team is planning a reunion
Members of the 1975 Bogalusa High School State Championship Track Team is planning a reunion.
The group is trying to get the entire team together.
The reunion is in the planning stages.
