The 2021 Washington Parish Free Fair has not been been cancelled, according to Fair President Cole Ladner and the Executive Committee.
At one point, the website Rodeos USA listed the rodeo and fair as canceled. The committee has been working to get this removed from the site.
Meanwhile, although something may change due to the ongoing COVID crisis, the public can be assured that the fair is scheduled for Oct. 20-24.
As of this week, fair officials had also been announcing some of the headline acts for this year’s fair.
Some of the headliners for Thursday, Oct. 21, on the Main Stage include Coffey Anderson, country music recording artist and star of Netflix’s Country Ever After, as well as Franklinton native Landon Magee. Magee will perform at 5:30 p.m. and Anderson will hit the stage at 9:30 p.m. Stage hypnotist Erick Känd will dazzle the audience at 8:30 p.m., prior to Anderson’s performance.
Frank Foster will be performing on the Main Stage on Friday, Oct. 22, at 9:30 p.m.
Category 6 will be one of the headline acts on Saturday, Oct. 23.
Moving forward, local news outlets and official fair social-media outlets will be the best place to seek updated information. These sites include Washington Parish Fair Association on Facebook and washingtonparishfreefair on Instagram.
