Franklinton competing in 7-on-7 tournament at Lakeshore

Franklinton will be playing in the 2021 Southeastern Louisiana Invitational 7-on-7 Tournament that takes place on July 9-10 at Lakeshore High School.
The tournament features 11 teams.
Squads will play four games in pool play on Friday before going into a double-elimination tournament that will start at 9 a.m. on Saturday.
Games are scheduled every half hour beginning at 3:30 p.m. with the final contest starting at 7 p.m. across three fields. Three games will take place at each time slot except at 4:30 p.m. and 6 p.m. when there will be two contests each at those times.
Franklinton will open the event on Friday by playing against Metairie Park Country Day at 3:30 p.m. on Field 3.
The Demons next game will be at 4 p.m. on Field 1 against Slidell.
An hour later, Franklinton will face Covington on Field 1 before capping off pool play with a contest against Northshore at 6:30 p.m. on Field 3.
Games are 21-minutes long. The first 20 minutes are played with a running clock that stops according to the rules in the final minute
Contests are played on a 40-yard field with first downs at the 25 and 10-yard lines.
Teams get three downs to make a first.
Squads are awarded six points for a touchdown.
Defensively, teams get three points for an interception, two per turnover on downs and one for an extra point.
Teams do not receive points for interceptions on a point after touchdown.
Following a touchdown, teams can go for one from the 5 or two from the 10. There are no 2-point conversion attempts and there is no overtime during pool play.
In overtime, teams start at the 10 and have three downs to post a touchdown. Beginning with the third overtime, teams must go for two from the 10.
