Pine Raider basketball camp is in June
The Pine Raider Basketball Camp will be held June 9-11 in the Pine High School Gym.
The camp will teach the fundamentals of basketball while having fun.
The clinic is open to first through sixth graders. First-third graders attend from 8 a.m. until 10:30 a.m., while fourth through sixth graders go from 11 a.m. to 1:30 p.m.
The cost is $60.
The early registration deadline to return the form and payment to the school is Friday. This will guarantee the participant a camp T-shirt and basketball. Participants can sign up after Friday, but are not guaranteed a T-shirt and basketball.

D.W. Trosclair Basketball Camp is in July
The D.W. Trosclair Basketball Camp will take place from July 14-16 in Varnado High School’s gym.
The clinic will teach the participants offensive and defensive skills to be a better basketball player.
The camp will run from 9 a.m. until 1 p.m. and is open to boys and girls from kindergarten through eighth grade.
The cost is $25 per child.

Police vs. Preachers Basketball Tournament is in June
Ben’s Ford Christian School is hosting the Police vs. Police Basketball Tournament on Saturday, June 26.
The event will feature four teams. The teams will include Team Law and Team Order for the teams with the police. The preachers teams will be Team Elders and Team Bishops.
The competition is open to the public and costs $3 for admission.
The event runs from 9:30 a.m. until noon.
Proceeds will benefit the Bogalusa Help Center and Ben’s Ford Christian School Athletics.

Sports Work Academy Basketball Camp taking place in July
The 14th annual Sports Work Academy Basketball Camp will be held on Saturday, July 17 at the YMCA.
Registration will begin at 8:30 a.m. with the camp to start at 9 a.m.
The camp directors are 1985 Bogalusa High School graduate Michael Galloway and former LSU player Nikita Wilson, who was selected by the Portland Trailblazers in the second round of the 1987 draft.
Murrell Galloway, who is a 1981 Bogalusa High School graduate, is the Coaching Staff Captain.

Franklinton Soccer Club registration
The Franklinton Soccer Club recently ended their first-full spring season.
According to the press release, the club has grown so much this season.
They look forward to our fall season which will begin in late August/early September.

Southern Miss Baseball Set to Hold a Variety of Camps This Summer
After a year hiatus, Southern Miss baseball returns with a variety of camp options including a pair of Prospect ID (June 9 and June 30) and Kids camps (June 14-17 and July 12-15), a Prospect Showcase Camp (July 17), a team camp (July 23-25) and a Father-Son/Daughter Camp (Aug. 21) this summer at Pete Taylor.

The USM Baseball Summer Prospect ID Camp will take place on Wednesday, June 9 at
Pete Taylor Park/Hill Denson Field.
Registration/sign-in runs from 9 a.m. until 10 a.m. with the clinic starting at 10 a.m.
Ninth graders through sophomore junior college players are eligible.
The participant fee is $200 (registration fee not included).
The camp is designed for prospective student-athletes ranging from high school freshman to junior college sophomores (junior college freshman must be academic qualifier) to showcase their abilities in front of the entire USM baseball coaching staff along with other college coaches and scouts. Participants will be given a chance to have their skills (hitting, fielding, speed, pitching, etc.) evaluated by college coaches. Any pitcher who is a dual player will be able to participate at both positions. Each camper will receive a camp T-Shirt. Lunch will not be provided. Approximately, 75 percent of past USM baseball rosters have been filled by USM camp participants.

The camp goes from 9 a.m. to noon and is open to children ages 6-13.
The cost is $200.

Each kid will have the ability to learn the fundamentals of the game of baseball from the entire University of Southern Mississippi baseball coaching staff, and then use what they have learned in game settings at the end of each camp day.

The USM Summer Team Camp is from Friday, July 23 through Sunday, July 25 at Pete Taylor Park/Hill Denson Field.
The cost is $800 entry plus $60 per game for umpires (paid to umpire by each team prior to the game).
The entry fee per team includes three games (possibly four), which will be played at USM. It will also cover insurance for the camp and facility usage. Team will be separated by age group (18u versus 18u and so on). A game bracket will be made up in the weeks leading up to camp so you know when you play. Teams will be responsible for their own lodging and game balls. Teams that win their bracket will play in championship games on Sunday.
The USM Father Son/Daughter Camp is being held on Saturday, Aug. 21 at Pete Taylor Park/Hill Denson Field.
Registration/sign-in is from 12:30 p.m. to 1 p.m.
The clinic runs from 1 p.m. to 5 p.m.
Eligible participants are kindergartners through eighth graders and their father/guardian.
The fee is $100 per father and one son or daughter and $50 for each additional child.
The Southern Miss Baseball Father Son/Daughter Camp is an opportunity to spend an afternoon with your son or daughter on the baseball field at Pete Taylor Park / Hill Denson Field. This camp will provide an outstanding bonding opportunity for the parent and child while also learning the game of baseball and developing an understanding of key fundamentals in maximizing their son’s full potential. Teaching areas will include pitching, hitting, catching, infield and outfield play. The goal of this one-day camp is to provide answers and training solutions to the questions that are most often asked by today’s fathers and youth league players.
