Patrick Lance Ellis, 50, a resident of the Warnerton community, passed away peacefully at his home in the early morning hours of Saturday, May 15, 2021.

He attended Mt. Hermon High School and grew up following his father’s footsteps in the sand and gravel industry. Pat worked hard, even at a very young age, driving large loaders and other heavy equipment, and working as a mechanic on all the different machines he operated. He also worked for Barriere Construction for several years. He was a Masterful Mason and a longtime member of the Franklinton Masonic Lodge. Pat’s hobby was always his demanding work but he did enjoy visiting with his family and friends at cookouts and crawfish boils.

He is survived by his daughter, Kelly Ellis of Mt. Hermon; mother, Margie Adams Ellis of Mt. Hermon; sister and brother-in-law, Sheila and Charles Kelley of Mt. Hermon; nieces and nephews, Michelle and Christopher Crawford of Mt. Hermon, Kimberly Williams and her daughter Savannah Williams of Colorado Springs, Colo., and Mitchell Kelley and fiancé Jordan Lawhon of Mt. Hermon; and also numerous aunts, uncles and other family members.

He was preceded in death by his father, Frederick Ellis; sister, Sherry Hargis; nephew, Logan Hargis; great-nephew, Chandler Williams; and grandparents, George Fred and Bertie Ellis, and Shurd and Martha Adams.

Visitation was at Crain Funeral Home on Tuesday, May 18, from 5 p.m. until 8 p.m., with a Masonic Rites service held at 7 p.m. Visitation will continue after 10 a.m. on Wednesday, May 19, until the time of the funeral service in the funeral home chapel at 2 p.m., with the Rev. Calvin Crowe officiating. Burial will follow in the Rueben Adams Cemetery.

Pallbearers will be Darryll Crowe, Alex Lewis, Robert Woodard, Johnny Crouch, Mitchell Kelley, Christopher Crawford, Forrest Fountain, Marlin Riley and Denny Denman.
