Lady Demons’ Martinez comes in 3rd at District 9-4A Meet

Franklinton’s Paulina Martinez came in third place in an event at the District 9-4A Meet that was held on Thursday at Salmen.
Martinez was third for the 800 meters with a time of 3 minutes, 10 seconds. St. Scholastica Academy’s Mia Mannino won in 2:42.
Thursday’s District 9-4A Meet was a qualifying event. The top four from each event made it to the 3-4A Regional Meet, which is today at South Terrebonne.
Martinez, Zoriea Gore, Isabella Lambert and the Lady Demons 4×100 relay team were fourth.
Martinez was fourth in the 1,600 after running a 6:48. St. Scholastica Academy’s Margaret Oggs won in 6:11.
Gore was fourth in the high jump after recording a 4-2. Lakeshore’s Miranda Tillery won at 5-0.
Lambert was fourth in the javelin with a throw of 41-2. St. Scholastica Academy’s Ella Showalter won at 80-3.
Franklinton’s 4×100 relay team was fourth with a time of 58.01 seconds. The team featured Alexia Mason, Trinity Bryant, Derranajuh Warren and Hope Phelps. St. Scholastica Academy won in 54.68.
Also for Franklinton, Phelps and Gore ran fifth and eighth in the 100 with times of 14.37 and 15.15. Salmen’s Imani Stokes won in 13.56.
Lambert was fifth in the discus at 45-2. St. Scholastica Academy’s Juliet Treadway won at 71-5.
Ashiriah Williams and Bryant were sixth and seventh for the long jump with distances of 11-10 and 11-3. Lakeshore’s Isabella Holt won at 14-7.5.
Gore took seventh in the 100 hurdles in 20.46. Lakeshore’s Anina Manning won in 17.27.
