Mt. Hermon School’s Lady Jackets were defeated by Choudrant, 12-2, in six innings in the bi-district round of the Class B state playoffs on the road Monday.
Sydnei Tullos singled and drove in a run.
Alexis Magee doubled.
Bailey Fortenberry singled.
Emily Bulloch and Blayke Brinker each scored a run.
No. 23 Mt. Hermon went 9-18 this season.
The Lady Jackets had just one senior in Tullos.
“Sydnei was a hustler,” Mt. Hermon coach Lester Jenkins said. “She was aggressive on the bases, which we like, but sometimes she was sometimes a little over aggressive on the bases, but you could put her anywhere. We started her off at catcher. We needed her in the outfield, so she played outfield. Then we put her at shortstop and she did an excellent job there. Then we put her back at catcher and she did an excellent job there. She was one that we could play anywhere. She’ll be greatly missed.”
No. 10 Choudrant (19-10) heads to the regionals and plays against seventh-seeded Stanley (20-11). Stanley had a bye in the bi-district round.
