Bogalusa, Pine compete in meet

Two teams from Washington Parish competed in the Strawberry Relays that were held on April 9 at the Southeastern Track Complex on the campus of Southeastern Louisiana University.
Bogalusa and Pine were the teams from Washington Parish that competed in the event.
Bogalusa’s Caitlin Holloway was seventh in the shot put at 26 feet, 10.5 inches. Pine’s Hannah Hughes was 14th, while Bogalusa’s Chantiasa Adams came in 17th at 21-1.5 and 17-5. Mandeville’s Sydney Stevens won at 35-6.
Bogalusa’s Mary Ladner and Pine’s Hannah Hughes came in 11th and 16th in the javelin with throws of 79-2 and 39-0. Pope John Paul II’s Mallory Norton won the event with a distance of 115-0.
Hughes was 12th for the discus with a 57-5. Lafayette’s Reese Grossie won at 106-1.
Pine’s Hailey Martin was 12th in the long jump with a distance of 12-1.5. Lafayette’s Courtney Wiltz won with a jump of 17-7.5.
Holloway and Pine’s Martin ran 15th and 22nd in the 100 meters with times of 14.55 seconds and 16.16. Lafayette’s Breyioncé George won in 12.65.
Pine’s Cameron Magee was 14th in the 800 with a time of 3 minutes, 6 seconds. St. Thomas Aquinas’ Breanna Becerra won in 2:15.
Pine’s Martin was 19th for the 200 in 34.41. Lafayette’s Johanna Duplantis won in 25.85.
Lafayette won the team competition with 147.33 points, as 14 teams posted points.
Mandeville was second with 140.33, followed by Teurlings Catholic’s 65, Albany’s 50 and Amite’s 50.
