Lady Demons competed in meet on Thursday

Franklinton’s Lady Demons competed in the Allie Smith Invitational that took place on Thursday at Covington High School.

Paulina Martinez came in 10th in the 1,600 with a time of 6 minutes, 53 seconds. Ponchatoula’s Jadyn Richard won in 5:38.

Martinez was 12th in the 800 at 3:07. Fontainebleau’s Caroline Spalitta won in 2:23.

Isabella Lambert was 14th in the discus and javelin with throws of 47 feet, 3 inches and 31-0, respectively. Ponchatoula’s Sentelle Brumfield won the discus at 106-1, while Mandeville’s Ashlee Robinson captured the javelin with a distance of 103-1.

Hope Phelps ran the 100 in about 14.65 seconds. Northshore’s Tiarra Tillison won the event in 12.74.

Fontainebleau won the team competition with 115 points, as 11 teams posted points.

Ponchatoula was second with 102, followed by Mandeville’s 99, Northshore’s 81 and Covington’s 41 was fifth.
