Franklinton baseball victorious over Karr, Pearl River

Franklinton won games against Edna Karr and Pearl River on Friday and Monday.

Friday’s contest was an 11-0 win over Edna Karr in five innings.

Trayshun Warren homered, doubled, drove in three runs and scored two runs.

Will Turner tallied two hits, including a double, and two runs batted in.

Daylin Sigler posted two hits, including a double, and two runs scored.

Rickey Burkhalter doubled and drove in three runs.

Chase Penton doubled and scored two runs.

Jordan McKenzie doubled and scored two runs.

Isaac Wascom singled.

Micah Wascom, D.J. Corkern and Kelly Daniels all scored a run.

Will Turner and Micah Wascom combined on the one-hit shutout. Turner threw three innings, allowing one hit with three strikeouts and no walks. Wascom went two frames of no-hit ball with five strikeouts and no walks.

Monday’s victory was 10-2 over Pearl River on the road to begin District 9-4A play.

The Demons had just three hits, but coaxed 12 walks.

Penton singled, drove in two runs and scored a run.

Micah Wascom doubled.

Isaac Wascom singled.

Warren scored three runs, while Banyan Penton posted two runs, McKenzie scored a run and had an RBI, Sigler and Corkern and Daniels all scored a run.

Winning pitcher Tuner threw five innings, allowing two runs, one earned, on two hits with seven strikeouts and five walks.

Dillon Pace pitched one shutout inning, allowing one hit with a strikeout and no walks.
