Pine, Mt. Hermon School compete in tournament

Pine went 1-2, while Mt. Hermon School was 0-3 in the 2021 FHS Challenge that took place at Fontainebleau and St. Scholastica Academy.
Pine was defeated by Thomas Jefferson, 9-1.
Kiyasha Clark doubled and scored a run.
Bailey Brooks doubled.
Alyssa Phelps and Lily Crain tallied a hit each.
The Lady Raiders split their two games on Saturday with a loss to Hammond and a win against Jewel Sumner.
The game against Hammond was 6-1.
Crain posted two hits that included a double.
Clark and Brooks each singled twice.
Addyson Phelps singled and scored a run.
Anna Kate Thomas singled.
Pine’s win over Jewel Sumner was 4-3, as Dillon Sumrall provided the walk-off hit.
The game was tied, 3-3, when Sumrall came up. Sumrall singled, plating Brooks with the winning run.
Sumrall went 2-for-4 with a run scored and the RBI.
Brooks singled twice and scored a run.
Addyson Phelps posted three hits and two runs scored.
Makia Clark singled, doubled and drove in a run.
Kirbee Magee posted a hit and two RBIs.
Alyssa Phelps and Kiyasha Clark both singled.
Mt. Hermon came up short to Hammond, 12-11, on March 19.
The Lady Jackets trailed 8-3 through six innings, but trimmed the lead to one with four in the top of the sixth. Hammond countered with four of its own in the bottom of the frame to make it 12-7. Mt. Hermon came back with four in the top of the seventh, but came up short by a run.
Alexis Magee went 4-for-4 with a double. Magee scored two runs and drove one home.
Alexa Bulloch posted two hits, both for extra bases with a double and a triple with four runs batted in and two runs scored.
Bailey Fortenberry posted two hits and two RBIs.
Jadyn Stafford had two hits, a run scored and one driven in.
Shunna Williams singled twice and scored three runs.
Katherine Quin singled and scored two runs.
Layla Riley singled and drove in a run.
Sydnei Tullos scored a run and drove one home.
Mt. Hermon played twice on March 20.
The first was a 17-2 loss to Fontainebleau in four innings.
The Lady Jackets were limited to two hits.
Magee doubled and drove in a run.
Stafford singled and scored a run.
Riley scored a run.
The Lady Jackets final game of the tournament was an 18-11 loss to Loranger.
Magee had another four hit game, this time going 4-for-5 with three doubles, three runs scored and two RBIs.
Fortenberry tallied three hits and two runs scored.
Tullos had two singles, three RBIs and two runs scored.
Stafford posted two hits and a run scored.
Riley tallied a hit and two runs scored.
Emily Bulloch singled twice and drove in a run.
Alexa Bulloch singled, had a run abetted in and scored a run.

In non-tournament action, Mt. Hermon School was victorious over Independence, 18-3, on Monday in three innings, as the Lady Jackets hit four homers and Tullos had a big day.
Tullos went 3-for-3 with two homers, posted five RBIs and scored three runs.
Stafford singled, doubled, scored two runs and drove in a run.
Magee homered, drove in three runs and scored two runs.
Fortenberry hit a homer, tallied three RBIs and scored two runs.
Riley had a hit, an RBI and three runs scored.
Alexa Bulloch singled and scored two runs.
Emily Bulloch and Lani Rando scored a run each.
Mt. Hermon scored 11 runs in the first and two more in the second to go up 13-0. Independence tallied three runs in the third before the Lady Jackets posted five in the bottom of the third for the “mercy rule” win.
Continuing with non-tournament action, Pine defeated Salmen, 27-2, in three innings on the road Monday.

Magee posted three hits that included a double, three RBIs and three runs scored.
Thomas recorded three hits, including a triple, drove in two runs and scored three runs.
Sumrall posted two hits, including a double, with three RBIs and three runs scored.
Alyssa Phelps posted two hits with a double, two runs batted in and four runs scored.
Brooks singled twice, drove in three runs and scored four runs.
Makia Clark homered, drove in two runs and scored four runs.
Crain tallied a hit, two RBIs and a run scored.
