Franklinton boys, girls defeated in recent matches

Franklinton’s boys and girls tennis teams were defeated by Hammond and St. Thomas Aquinas in matches that took place March 9-10.

The boys were defeated by Hammond 3-1 at home.

Keaton Catrett won his match in straight sets, 6-1, 6-1.

Bryson Thomas was defeated in a tiebreaker, 6-6 (7-5 in the tiebreaker), 4-6, 10-6.

In doubles, Matthew Rogers/Sidney Richardson were defeated, 6-2, 6-3.

Van Mizell/Andrew Fitzmorris were defeated, 7-5, 6-1.

The girls were defeated, 4-1, by Hammond.

The doubles team of Kendra Williams/McKenna Rushing won their match, 6-2, 6-1.

Marleigh Schilling/Jennifer Dong were defeated in a tiebreaker, 7-5, 4-6, 11-9.

Kayla Vallejo/Chloe Rayburn were defeated, 6-1, 6-1.

In singles, Dawn Kehoe was defeated, 6-2, 6-2.

McKinley Burt was defeated, 6-0, 6-2.

The next day, Franklinton’s boys were defeated by St. Thomas Aquinas, 4-1, at Southeastern Louisiana University.

Thomas won his match, 6-3, 3-6, 10-7.

Catrett was defeated, 6-2, 6-2.

In doubles, Rogers/Richardson were defeated, 3-6, 6-2, 7-1.

Mizell/Fitzmorris were defeated, 6-2, 6-2.

The girls were defeated, 5-0.

In singles, Kehoe was defeated, 6-3, 6-2.

Burt was defeated, 6-4, 6-4.

Williams/Rushing were defeated, 6-0, 6-2.

Schilling/Dong were defeated, 6-0, 6-1.

Elizabeth Thompson/Vallejo were defeated, 6-2, 6-2.

Franklinton’s next match will take place on Monday against Ponchatoula at home.
