Lady Demons went 1-2 in Acadiana Tournament last weekend

Franklinton’s Lady Demons went 1-2 in the Acadiana Tournament that was held on Friday and Saturday.

The Lady Demons won the opener, 18-1, over DeQuincy in three innings, as Ashlyn Welch had a huge game.

Welch went 4-for-4 with a homer, a double, three runs scored and six RBIs.

Skylar Branch went 3-for-3 with a homer, a triple, three runs batted in and three runs scored.

Albanie Fussell doubled twice, drove in three runs and scored two runs.

Khristian Schexnider posted two hits and three runs scored.

Isabella Causey singled and drove in two runs.

Missouri Varnado and Aayah Faour each singled and scored two runs.

Brylie Fowler singled and drove in a run.

Aleigha Fussell singled and scored a run.

Bailey Brooks and Dunyla Anders scored a run each.

Branch was the winning pitcher. She threw all three innings, allowing one run on six hits with six strikeouts and two walks.

Franklinton played a pair of games on Saturday and came up short in both, being defeated by a combined three runs.

The first was an 8-6 loss to Iota.

Albanie Fussell went 3-for-3 with a double, triple, an RBI and a run scored. She missed hitting for the cycle by just a homer.

Welch and Fowler both singled twice and scored a run.

Brooks tallied two hits and an RBI.

Aleigha Fussell singled twice, drove in a run and scored a run.

Faour singled and had an RBI.

Varnado posted a hit and a run scored.

Schexnider singled.

Branch scored a run.

The final game of the tournament was an 11-10 loss to Denham Springs.

Branch singled, doubled, scored two runs and drove in two runs.

Schexnider posted three hits, that included a double, two runs scored and two RBIs.

Fowler tallied two hits and a run scored.

Albanie Fussell singled twice and scored two runs.

Brooks tallied two hits and two RBIs.

Welch doubled and scored two runs.

Aleigha Fussell tallied a hit and an RBI.

Varnado scored a run, while Faour drove in a run.

Franklinton’s next game will be on Thursday against St. Scholastica Academy on the road.
