Varnado’s Quanta Peters scored 29 points in a 66-50 victory over Pine in a District 9-2A game that took place on the road Friday.

Peters also grabbed three rebounds and made four steals.

Caluntay Jackson posted 11 points, a steal and two blocks.

Jaheim Hooks tallied nine points and a steal.

Miguel Fland filled up the statsheet with seven points, seven rebounds, eight assists and seven steals.

Luke Spears led Pine with 16 points.

John Eric Self posted 15. He made three 3-pointers.

Clint Miley tallied 12 points. He posted two 3-pointers.

Khalil Washington had five points on 5-of-6 from the free-throw line.

Varnado’s next game will be Feb. 2 on the road against Amite.

Pine will play again on Feb. 2 against St. Helena College and Career Academy on the road.
