Franklinton’s Lady Demons were defeated by Lakeshore and Bonnabel in District 6-II games that took place at home on Wednesday and Thursday in soccer.

On Wednesday, Franklinton was defeated by Lakeshore, 9-0, in a District 6-II game that took place at home.

Lakeshore, which is 16-4-1, is the No. 1 ranked team in the unofficial LHSAA Division II powerpoint rankings.

Thursday’s game was a 5-0 loss to Bonnabel.

“The girls left everything out on the field tonight, and to be honest, regardless of the score, this was the best the team has played,” Franklinton coach Jennifer Jenkins said about Thursday’s game. “The seniors lead with great leadership and positive attitudes and it made a difference in the team as a whole. We even had a freshman stepping up to attempt goals which helped out the offense. As more of the younger players feel more comfortable in their positions and continue to improve, they will be a force to be reckoned with.  I coach for games like this. I couldn’t be more proud of the girls.”

Franklinton caps off the regular season on Jan. 30 with a road game against Riverdale.
