Louisiana Mercury practice
The Louisiana Mercury 2020-21 16U AAU Tryouts have been complete, but practice begins on Jan. 16 at 11 a.m. at Varnado High School.
All players interested in joining are welcome to come to the practice even if they did not tryout.
The team has four spots available.
The team will travel in state and out of state from March through July.

Franklinton Soccer Club registration
The Franklinton Soccer Club is holding membership registration twice in person.
The dates are Jan. 16 and 23 from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. at First Baptist Church in Franklinton.
New players may try on uniforms to get the correct size, but returning players do not have to purchase a new uniform. The new uniform order deadline is Monday, Jan. 25.
Membership is paid annually.
The Franklinton Soccer Club has a spring and a fall season.
The spring season will begin on March 1 and go through May 1.
The goal of the club is to develop the skills of each player to his or her potential by focusing on small sided games and individual ball control.
The club plays at the Atoka Recreation Complex on Hwy. 25. It is located two miles from the entrance to the Washington Parish Fairgrounds. This year, FSC is planning to play teams from neighboring clubs.

Dogwood Dash 5K to benefit Christmas in the Park
The Dogwood Dash 5K and Fun Run benefiting Christmas in the Park will be held March 20 at Cassidy Park.
Early bird registration is $25 for the 5K and includes a T-shirt.
After Feb. 1, the cost goes up to $30 and T-shirts are then first come, first served basis. The 1-mile Fun Run registration is $15 and includes a T-shirt if registered by Feb. 1.
