Varnado topped at the buzzer in overtime against Phoenix

Varnado’s Wildcats were defeated at the buzzer, 76-74, by Phoenix in an overtime road game that took place on Dec. 30.

The game went to overtime tied at 61-61.

Elizah Miller filled up the stat sheet and recorded a double-double while doing so. He scored 12 points and grabbed 14 rebounds, while tallying six steals and dishing out five assists.

Caluntay Jackson missed a double-double by just one rebound with 19 points and nine boards.

Quanta Peters tallied 13 points, seven rebounds and four assists.

Miguel Fland posted 11 points, five rebounds and five assists.

Varnado will be back in action on Friday against Kentwood on the road. This is the Wildcats’ District 9-2A opener.
