The University of Louisiana at Lafayette captured the Servepro First Responder Bowl, 31-24, over the University of Texas at San Antonio on Saturday in Dallas.

Jones is a redshirt junior.
This season, Jones made 43 tackles, 3.5 stops for a loss, two sacks, one pass breakup and three quarterback hits.
Freshman Mike Martin, who graduated from Franklinton in 2020, is a running back for Louisiana.
The Ragin’ Cajuns never trailed in Saturday’s game.
Louisiana scored the game’s first 10 points and went up 24-7 early in the third quarter, but UTSA came back to tie the game at 24-24.
Louisiana scored the go-ahead touchdown, which turned out to be game-winner with 7:16 left in the fourth quarter.
Louisiana capped off the regular season with a 10-1 record.
This was the second-straight year that the University of Louisiana at Lafayette has won at least 10 games. Last year, Louisiana went 11-3 for a 21-4 record over the last two seasons.
It is also the second-consecutive year the Ragin’ Cajuns have won a bowl game. Last year, Louisiana defeated Miami of Ohio, 27-17, in the LendingTree Bowl.
