Bowling Green School’s Buccaneers were defeated by Canton Academy, 42-26, on the road in the opening round of the Class 4A playoffs.

Ninth-seeded Bowling Green caps off its season after posting a 5-3 record in the regular season.

Eighth seeded Canton Academy, which posted a 4-5 mark in the regular season, advances to the second round to play against defending Class 4A state champion and top-seeded Riverfield Academy.

Riverfield went 9-1 in the regular season.
