Franklinton’s Demons are on the road Friday night and take on St. Charles Catholic.
“We will look to continue to improve this week,” Franklinton coach Jonathan Barber said. “Some areas were better last week than the previous week, but we have to be more consistent. We are not doing a good enough job in executing and eliminating negative plays. St Charles will challenge us from a discipline standpoint. They will not beat themselves and they will be in the right spots every single play. They do not make mistakes and will force us to beat them. As they were last year, they will be one of the best teams we face this season. Our objective is to focus on the things we can control and be better this week than we were last.”
Franklinton comes into this week with an 0-4 record. Last week was a 35-7 setback to Belle Chasse.
Last week, De’Airreous Magee ran for 79 yards and a touchdown. He also caught a pass for 2 yards.
Zion Anders passed for 98 yards on 14-of-27 passing. He also rushed for 39 yards.
Corinthious Dickerson rushed for 16.
Kadarious Mark made four catches for 45 yards.
Caleb Brown made three receptions for 20 yards.
Kelly Daniels tallied three catches for 16 yards.
Daniel Bryant recorded two catches for 15 yards.
These teams met last year with St. Charles winning, 35-6.
St. Charles begins this week with a 3-1 record and is ranked sixth in the Louisiana Sports Writers Association poll. Last week, St. Charles was defeated by De La Salle, 21-0.
