James Leonard Owens, 51, a resident of Singley Road, was arrested by Washington Parish Sheriff’s Office Det. Demmie Rice on charges of molestation of a juvenile and sexual battery. He was jailed on Tuesday, with his bond set at $150,000.

WPSO Chief Deputy Mike Haley said that Owens’ arrest followed an investigation by Rice and forensic interviews at the Child Advocacy Center.

To protect the privacy of the juvenile victim, no additional information will be provided, Haley said.
