Varnado takes to the field on Friday to play a scrimmage against Loranger on the road at 6 p.m.
Our main look is just getting to hit someone besides ourselves and getting adjusted to playing with new rules of safety because of (COVID-19) and to break in new players we have,” Varnado coach Milton Green said.
The teams will play basically a regular game with four 12-minute quarters with varsity and junior varsity each playing half. There will be no special teams.
Varnado went officially 2-8 last season.
Loranger was a 10-0 team, but lost in the first round of the Class 3A playoffs to Baker, 28-21.
Varnado will begin the season on Oct. 2 against East Iberville at home.
