The YMCA Golf Classic that was scheduled for Saturday, Aug. 29 at the Bogalusa Country Club was postponed because of the heavy rain on Friday.
“The course was just too wet from the rain on Friday,” YMCA CEO Stuart Parker said. “The weather was just too bad and it might have prevented the golfers from enjoying the tournament. We want to reschedule and have the opportunity to enjoy a good day of golfing. Hopefully we’ll get more players when we makeup since it will be drier.”
The group is setting up a new date for the event.
This is the 16th year of the tournament.
Parker said it is the second time it has been postponed. The only other time was in a playoff and it was finished up the next day.
The tournament, which is the YMCA’s biggest fundraiser, features a two-person scramble format at a cost of $100 per person.
The cost includes carts, green fees, mulligans and lunch.
Carts are limited, so if you have one, you are asked to bring it when they make up the competition.
You can drop off registration or mail it to 411 Ave. B, Bogalusa, LA, 70427.
