Bowling Green School’s Buccaneers take to the road Friday night to play against Centreville Academy in its first regular season game this season.

“(Centreville Academy coach) Bill Hurst is obviously a really good coach,” Bowling Green coach Riley Boudreaux said. “He does what he feels is best for the boys he’s got. Our defense has to read their keys and not fall asleep. We have to get off the field, get our offense on the field and score early.”

Bowling Green has not played in a competition against another team since their scrimmage on Aug. 7, as their jamboree and opening week games were canceled.

Boudreaux talked about how practice has been going the last couple of weeks.

“It’s been alright,” Boudreaux said. “It’s been tough missing some kids. We’ve got to change the way we do a couple things. We’re just rolling with the punches and plugging away.”

Centreville was defeated in their opener, 43-40, by Washington School.

Following Friday’s game, Bowling Green will play against Amite School Center on Friday, Sept. 4.
