Bowling Green victorious in 2 of 3

Bowling Green School captured two of three games that were held Aug. 7, Monday and Tuesday.

On Aug. 7, Bowling Green defeated Centreville, 12-2, in five innings.

The Lady Buccaneers jumped to a 5-0 lead through one inning and led 9-0 after three. Centreville scored a pair of runs in the fifth before Bowling Green countered with three of its own to win by the mercy rule.

The Lady Bucs posted 11 hits.

Anna Claire Crowe recorded two hits, including a double, with a run batted in and a run scored.

KaKa Seal singled twice and scored a run.

Albanie Fussell hit a solo home run.

Landry Dupont singled, drove in two runs and scored three runs.

Aleigha Fussell doubled and drove in two runs.

Katherine Burris, Cassidy Spears singled and posted two RBIs each.

Dixie Camaille singled and scored a run.

Kylee Burris singled, drove in a run and scored a run.

Hallie Serigne scored a run.

Winning pitcher Aleigha Fussell pitched four innings of shutout ball, allowing two hits while striking out two and issuing one walk.

On Monday, Bowling Green was defeated by Silliman Institute, 8-4.

The game was tied at 4-4 through five innings, but Silliman scored two runs each in the sixth and seventh.
Dupont tripled twice and scored two runs.

Camaille recorded a pair of hits and scored a run.

Spears singled twice, scored a run and drove in a run.

Kylee Burris went 2-for-3 with a double.

Brylie Fowler doubled and drove in a pair of runs.

Crowe and Aleigha Fussell both singled.

Bowling Green rebounded from Monday’s loss when Spears had a walkoff hit in the seventh in an 8-7 victory over Columbia Academy on Tuesday.

Spears tallied three hits with two runs scored and the game-winning RBI.

Bowling Green led 4-0 through one inning, but Columbia tied the game at 4-4 in the second. The Lady Buccaneers responded with three runs in the bottom of the frame to go up 7-4. Columbia scored two runs in the fifth and another in the seventh to tie the game at 7-7 before Bowling Green won it with a run in the seventh.

Camaille singled, doubled, drove in two runs and scored three runs.

Dupont hit a solo homer and scored two runs as part of a two-hit day.

Aleigha Fussell recorded two hits that included a double and a pair of RBIs.

Crowe tallied a hit and a run batted in.

Albanie Fussell singled.

Kylee Burris scored a run.

Bowling Green is back in action on Tuesday, Aug. 18 with a road game against Columbia Academy.
