YMCA Golf Tournament
The 16th annual YMCA Golf Tournament takes place on Saturday, Aug. 29 at the Bogalusa Country Club.
This is the YMCA’s biggest fundraiser.
The time and prizes are still being determined.

Bogalusa Rotary Club
The Bogalusa Rotary Club has canceled its weekly meetings, until further notice. The Milltown Classic 5K race scheduled for May has been postponed — a date will be announced in the future, once available. The fishing tournament scheduled for April has been tentatively moved to Saturday, Sept. 19.

Legends All-Pro Football Camp canceled
The annual Legends All-Pro Football Camp has been canceled because of the COVID-19 pandemic.
This would have been the 18th year.
The clinic plans to return for 2021.

Sports Work Academy Basketball Camp canceled
The Sports Work Academy Basketball Camp has been canceled because of the COVID-19 pandemic.
The annual clinic has been held for 13 years.
They plan on coming back in 2021.
Co-Camp Director Michael Galloway said they plan on doing something in the fall, not to replace the camp, but as a community event.

PRCC holding mascot tryouts
Pearl River Community College is in search for a new leader to take over as legendary mascot, W.C. Rivers.
Applicants are expected to be an ambassador of Pearl River Community College, enthusiastic and creative. Additionally, candidates must attend all football games, home basketball games, a variety of appearances as well as other events.
To be eligible:
Applicants must be enrolled at PRCC, accepted or have a pending application on file prior to tryouts
Complete tryout application (only Page 1 of cheer application)
Complete waiver form (available at PRCCAthletics.com)
Provide copy of front and back of insurance card
To apply, candidates can submit their paperwork and tryout video to head coach Sarah Smith at SCSmith@prcc.edu.
The video must be broken down into two sections. In the first section, please state your name, hometown and why you want to be W.C. Rivers; be sure to show your personality.
In the second section, create a clip showcasing your mascot skills. Mascots will be graded on crowd appeal/interaction, creativity, enthusiasm, prop usage and overall impression.
The video should range anywhere from 30 seconds to 2 minutes.
The deadline to tryout is May 22.
