State has seen 46 deaths from virus

By Tuesday afternoon, the state of Louisiana had seen 1,388 cases of COVID-19 and 46 deaths, according to statistics released by the Louisiana Dept. of Health.
The LDH said at noon Tuesday that there had been 1,852 tests completed by the state laboratory, and another 6,751 tests reported to the state by commercial labs. Out of the total of 8,603 recorded tests, 16.1 percent were positive for COVID-19.
As of Tuesday, there had been 43 parishes that had reported at least one case of COVID-19, out of 64 parishes in the state. There had been three reported cases in Washington Parish, with one death.
There had been 52 cases in St. Tammany Parish, with one death, and four cases in Tangipahoa Parish, with no deaths.
Out of the total of 1,388 cases, 46 had led to the patient’s death — a rate of 3.3 percent.
On Monday, the LDH had reported 1,172 cases of COVID-19, with 34 deaths.
