Lumberjacks defeat Pine, Jewel Sumner

Bogalusa went 2-0 in games against Pine and Jewel Sumner last week.
On Jan. 7, the Lumberjacks defeated Pine, 68-51, at home.
Chance Turner paced Bogalusa with 22 points, which included two 3-pointers.
Josh Taylor tallied 18 points and he made a pair of 3-pointers.
Quientay Henry posted 10 points.
Javon Bickham and Karry Conerly recorded six points, while Raheem Roberts, Daylon Jackson and Jarvis Dawson all had two.
Tristan Jones was Pine’s leading scorer with 14 points. He made four 3-pointers.
Luke Spears posted 13 points, which included a 3-pointer.
Jordan Anderson had 11 and he made a 3-pointer.
Adrianuen Johnson and Karson Voth tallied five each, while Khalil Washington put up three. Voth made a 3-pointer.
On Friday, Bogalusa opened District 8-3A play with a 66-64 win over Jewel Sumner on the road.
Taylor led the Lumberjacks with 19 points. He made three 3-pointers.
Henry posted 14 points and he made two 3-pointers.
Bickham tallied 11 points, which included a 3-pointer.
Conerely had eight points, while Turner tallied five, Demarcus Spikes and Dawson posted four each and Roberts added one in the victory. Turner made a 3-pointer for Bogalusa.
The Lumberjacks will play again on Tuesday, on the road against Albany. Pine’s next game will be Friday at home against St. Helena College and Career Academy.
