Lady Eagles win 2-of-3 in Silliman Tournament

Ben’s Ford Christian School’s Lady Eagles posted a 2-1 record in the 2019 Silliman Invitational Basketball Tournament that took place Dec. 27-28.
Ben’s Ford won both games on Dec. 27.
The first contest was a 46-40 victory over Cathedral Unit School.
Dani Descant scored 13 points to top the Lady Eagles. She also pulled down four rebounds, dished out an assist and made a steal.
Allie Jacobs had 11 points, seven boards two assists and a pair of steals.
Kelci Freeman posted eight points, a rebound and three steals.
Bailey Stewart recorded seven points and three boards.
Alaina McClelland tallied five points, four rebounds, an assist and a steal.
Natalie Seal had two points and five rebounds.
The next game was a 41-40 win over CHEF of Baton Rouge.
McClelland broke a 38-38 tie by hitting a 3-pointer with 37 seconds left to give Ben’s Ford a 41-38 lead.
McClelland led the team in points with 19. She also pulled down three rebounds, passed for an assist and made a pair of steals.
Stewart posted 10 points, five boards and a steal.
Jacobs recorded six points, grabbed 11 rebounds, dished out two assists, made three steals and she blocked a shot.
Freeman had three points, seven boards, two assists and six steals.
Descant posted three points, three rebounds and three steals.
Ben’s Ford suffered a 74-30 loss the following day to Silliman Institute.
Freeman led the team with 12 points. She also pulled down three rebounds and made three steals.
Jacobs tallied six points and five boards.
McClelland posted six points, a rebound, an assist and a steal.
Stewart recorded four points, six boards and a steal.
Descant had two points, an assist and a steal.
Sylvia Rosa tallied a point and a rebound.
Ben’s Ford will be back in action on Monday, with a home game against Amite School Center.
