Jerry Miller was called home on Thursday, Dec. 26, 2019, at the age of 59 at Lakeview Regional Medical Center in Covington.

Jerry attended Franklinton High School and later received a high school diploma from Job Corps.

Jerry was very comical and enjoyed working on cars, and spending time with his family and friends. Jerry loved children and helping out in any way that he could. Jerry worked as a mechanic, welder, disc jockey and steel worker until his death.

He leaves to cherish his loving memories: his daughter, Cynthia (Harold) Ruffin of Forsyth, Ga.; one son, Curtis (Joniece) Pinestraw of Hammond; one granddaughter, Harlem Ruffin; eight grandsons, Harold Jr., Harrison, Harrys, and Harland Ruffin of Forsyth, Curtis Jr., Kane, Kash, and MyKhy Pinestraw of Hammond; his mother, Faye Miller of Franklinton; seven sisters, Shirlene Warren of Baton Rouge, Stella (Floyd) Dixon of Hammond, Jackie (Vincent) Wilson and Catherine (James) Davis, both of Franklinton, Gwen (Darren) of Osceola, Ark., and Marilyn (Houston) Stovall and Ra’Shaunda Primus, both of Hammond; two brothers, Lionel Ricks and Charles Ricks Jr., both of Hammond; a very dear friend, Vertia Dickerson; and a host of uncles, aunts, nieces, nephews, relatives and friends.

He was preceded in death by his grandparents, Major and Stella Miller; one sister, Cynthia Miller Roberts; and a stepbrother, Marvin Ricks.

Visitation will be held on Friday, Jan. 3, from 2 p.m. until 6 p.m., with a family hour from 6 p.m. to 7 p.m.

The funeral service will be Saturday, Jan. 4, at 11 a.m. at Sweet Home Church of Christ Holiness with Elder Kevin Golden, Host Church Pastor, and Elder Esco Burton, Pastor Officiating. Interment will be in Plainview Church Cemetery.
