FHS’s Boyle runs 12th in district

MANDEVILLE — Franklinton’s Kael Boyle was 12th in the District 8-4A Cross Country Meet that took place at Fontainebleau State Park in Mandeville on Thursday, Nov. 7.
Boyle ran the three-mile race in 25 minutes, 33 seconds.
Lakeshore’s Braeden Theard won the event in 19 minutes.
Pearl River’s Malachi Mcguay was second at 19:54, followed by Salmen’s Ethan Ruiz’s 20:25 and Lakeshore teammates Aiden Mangipano and Jacob Meyers with times of 20:57 and 20:58, respectively, to round out the top five in a field of 18.
Two teams qualified for team honors.
Lakeshore won with 21 points and Pearl River was second at 38.
In the girls, Franklinton’s Dawn Kehoe was 26th at 38:40.
St. Scholastica Academy’s Brooke Naccari was victorious with a time of 19:24.
St. Scholastica runners occupied the top four spots.
Chloe Chehardy was second at 21:58, followed by Sarah Kate Hendry’s 22:01 and Maggie Oggs’ 22:06. Pearl River’s Kiersten Taylor rounded out the top five of 26 after clocking a 22:18.
Three schools qualified for team honors.
St. Scholastica Academy won with 15 points.
Lakeshore and Salmen were second and third with 50 and 74 points, respectively.
The state meet for Franklinton and Bogalusa takes place on Tuesday, Nov. 19, at Northwestern State University in Natchitoches.
