Pine’s Lady Raiders were defeated by Parkview Baptist, 25-7, 25-10, 25-10, in the bi-district round of the Division IV playoffs on the road Tuesday.
No. 29 Pine posted a 14-9 record in the regular season.
This was the Lady Raiders’ first winning season in the volleyball program’s history. The first season was 2012.
“The girls played really hard this year,” Pine coach Tammy Voth said. “They gave it a good run. We’re looking for great things next year. I’ve got all of my team coming back, so we’re looking for even a better season next year. I’m very proud of them. This year, we were actually able to get some girls on the first and second team all-district teams. This season was great, but my expectation for next season is even higher.”
Makia Clark and Kalli Tullier downed nine kills each. Clark also blocked four shots.
Kiyasha Clark posted five kills.
Reese Polk posted four kills and a dig.
Leah Ladner had three kills and a dig.
Fourth-seeded Parkview Baptist, which went 30-10 in the regular season, advanced to the regional round of the postseason. Parkview Baptist defeated 20th-seeded De La Salle, 25-13, 25-7, 25-11 and will play fifth-seeded University Lab in the quarterfinals.
