Ben’s Ford Christian School’s Kelci Freeman
Ben’s Ford Christian School’s Kelci Freeman is a basketball player and is on the cheer team. The senior will also play softball for the Lady Eagles when their season starts up in the spring.
In basketball, Freeman is a forward. Freeman was an all-district player the last two seasons.
“I’ve been coaching her since the seventh grade,” Ben’s Ford Christian School girls basketball coach Mark McGehee said. “She’s a hard worker. I love her to death. She’s brought some leadership the past few years and I’m gonna miss her next year. I’m really looking forward to her having a great senior year.”
What do you enjoy most about playing your sports?
I like everything about it. I like the rush in it, the adrenaline, it keeps me going. I like making memories with my teammates and stuff.
What do you like best about being a student-athlete?
Making memories like the bus rides and getting close with the girls.
Who has been the most influential person in your school sports career? Why?
My sister (Caitlynn Saucier), because no matter what, she never gave up and she encouraged me to do my best. Even when I wanted to quit, she wouldn’t let me.
Who is your favorite athlete? Why?
New Orleans Saints cornerback Marshon Lattimore because he’s just really good. He doesn’t stop and he never gives up.
Favorite team?
New Orleans Saints
Best thing about living in Washington Parish?
The fair. I really love the community and stuff when we all get together.
