Pine is 3-1 in recent games

Pine’s volleyball team posted a 2-1 record in games held this week.
The Lady Raiders defeated Varnado, Bogalusa and Loranger, but were topped by 2018 Division IV state semifinalist Pope John Paul II.
Pine’s win against Varnado was 25-6, 25-11, 25-8 on Monday. The next day was a 25-5, 25-10, 25-9 win over Bogalusa in a District 4-IV contest. Both games were at home.
Thursday’s game was a 25-8, 25-6, 25-16 District IV loss to Pope John Paul II on the road Thursday.
Reese Polk recorded 11 kills, a dig and six blocks.
Makia Clark recorded seven kills and four blocks.
Kalli Tullier had nine kills.
Leah Ladner tallied two kills, a block and an ace.
On Monday, Pine defeated Loranger, 25-12, 25-9, 25-8 in non-district action at home.
Polk downed 14 kills and blocked two shots.
Tullier had nine kills and an ace.
Clark recorded eight kills, four blocks and an ace
Ladner posted five kills and an ace.
Kaitlyn Cochran tallied four aces in the victory.
Pine plays Springfield on Oct. 15 and has three regular season contests left after this contest. Both are in District 4-IV play and the two games are at home, starting with a game on Oct. 22 against St. Helena College and Career Academy.
