Ben’s Ford Christian School was defeated by Christian Collegiate School, 66-44, in Friday’s home game.
“Our boys played good,” Ben’s Ford Christian School Tommy Pittman said. “We competed all night. It was back-and-forth. I think we had five kids score. Defensively, it was just a struggle to get a stop. We had a couple of turnovers that hurt us. But we were right there in the fourth quarter. They had a little more in the tank than us, but I was proud that we made it a ballgame.”
Ben’s Ford trailed 22-14 after the first quarter and it was 30-20 at halftime.
Ben’s Ford quarterback Daniel Martin had a big night running the ball, going for 178 yards on 18 carries and a touchdown. He also threw for 93 yards with a touchdown and two interceptions on 5-of-10 passing.
The touchdown pass went to John Robert Holston, who had two catches for 76 yards.
Payton Miller had two catches for 8 yards while Austin Stogner made a reception for 9 yards.
Both players also had solid games on the ground.
Miller rushed nine times for 74 yards and two touchdowns while Stogner ran for 59 yards and a score.
Defensively, Miller led the team in tackles with 9.5 stops to go with 2.5 for a loss.
