Pine kept Friday’s contest close, but suffered a 27-13 setback to Pearl River on the road.
“I thought defensively, we played well,” Pine coach Bradley Seal said. “It was 7-0 until late in the third quarter. We just couldn’t get any big plays going on offense.”
Adrianuen Johnson ran for 112 yards on 16 carries and a touchdown.
Jaheim Williams had a touchdown.
Drake Westmoreland led the team in tackles with 10.
The Raiders fell to 1-2 this season. Pine will be back in action on Friday with its District 9-2A opener on the road against St. Thomas Aquinas.
