Franklinton used a balanced offensive attack in a 41-35 victory over Fontainebleau in the home opener that took place Friday.
The Demons threw for 230 yards and ran for 216 yards. They scored three touchdowns in both offensive categories, for a total of six in the game.
Jasper LaSalle threw for 230 yards on 11-of-18 passing, with three touchdowns. LaSalle had 17 carries for 39 yards.
Caleb Brown led the receivers with four catches for 120 yards and two touchdowns.
Kadarious Mark caught three passes for 65 yards.
Spencer Lambert had a catch for 27 yards and a run for 1 yard.
Quaran Warren made two receptions for 20 yards and a touchdown. Warren did most of his work on the ground, as he led the rushing attack. He ran 19 times for 153 yards and three touchdowns.
Mike Martin had eight carries for 21 yards.
De-Airreous Magee recorded five yards on a carry.
“I was proud of the way our kids competed,” Franklinton coach Jonathan Barber said. “I thought we came out with a chip on our shoulder after the loss the week before. Another thing is that Fontainebleau plays with a lot of intensity and a lot of emotion, so it was important for us to match that.”
Franklinton led 15-13 at halftime and Barber said his team came out and took control of the third quarter.
“The difference in this week and last week was the way we finished the first half and started the second half,” Barber said. “They had a chance to score at the end of the first half and were able to stop them, and then we came out first drive of the third quarter and scored.”
Franklinton improved to 1-1 this season. The Demons will be back in action Friday as they host Bogalusa.
