Lady Buccaneers softball team post 2-1 record in recent games

Bowling Green School’s Lady Buccaneers went 2-1 in games held this week.
On Monday, Bowling Green was topped by Amite School Center, 4-2.
Each team had eight hits.
Anna Claire Crowe posted two hits and a run batted in.
Landry Dupont had a hit and a RBI.
Morgan Carpenter posted two hits.
Dixie Camaille, Madelyn Burch and KaKa Seal all posted one hit.
Madelyn Burch allowed two earned runs on eight hits with 11 strikeouts and three walks.
Bowling Green rebounded from the loss the following day with an 11-1 win over Lamar Christian School in five innings.
The Lady Bucs posted 12 hits.
Crowe posted three hits in as many at-bats. She had two doubles, an RBI and three runs scored.
Camaille had a pair of hits and one run batted in.
Cassidy Spears had a two-run homer and three RBIs.
Hannah Varnado totaled a hit and three runs batted in.
Kylee Burris posted a hit and two RBIs.
Seal put up a hit and an RBI.
Dupont posted a hit, which was a triple.
Carpenter had a hit in the win.
Burris pitched the first five innings, allowing a run on one hit with six strikeouts and five walks.
Burch pitched the fifth and she struck out the side with a walk.
On Thursday, Bowling Green defeated Wayne Academy, 10-9, on the road in the continuation and completion of a game that was suspended because of rain on Tuesday, Aug. 27.
Bowling Green led 4-3 when they picked the game up in the bottom of the third inning.
Wayne Academy tied the game at 4-4 in the fourth inning and then took a 7-4 lead through five.
Bowling Green then scored four runs in the sixth inning to retake the lead 8-7. The Lady Buccaneers then added two insurance runs in the seventh on a two-run homer by Dupont to go up 10-7.
Those runs proved to be big, as Wayne tallied twice in the seventh, but Bowling Green hung on for the 1-run victory.
Dupont went 2-for-4 with two RBIs and three runs scored.
Burris recorded a hit, three runs and a run batted in.
Crowe had a hit, a run batted in and a run scored.
Camaille posted two hits and a pair of RBIs.
Carpenter tallied a hit and a run scored.
Spears drove in two runs.
The Lady Bucs’ next games will take place Monday, Tuesday and next Saturday.
Monday’s game, which is at home, is against Amite School Center while Tuesday’s contest is a road contest against Lamar Christian School.
Monday’s action begins with a junior varsity game at 5 p.m. and varsity at 6:15 p.m. Tuesday’s varsity game starts at 3 p.m. with J.V. to follow.
Next Saturday, Bowling Green will complete in the Jackson Prep Tournament.
