Volleyball season getting under way

The volleyball regular season begins in the upcoming week, as the four local teams get things going.
Three local teams open the 2019 season on Tuesday with two games, both in Washington Parish.
Bogalusa begins the season with a home game against Pine on Tuesday while Varnado opens by hosting Amite.
Franklinton’s season starts on Thursday with a home contest against Bogalusa.
Bogalusa and Pine enter this year following Division IV playoff seasons.
Bogalusa was defeated by eventual state champion Archbishop Hannan in three games.
Pine made the playoffs for the second-straight season last year, before falling to Haynes Academy in three games. Haynes Academy reached the quarterfinals last season.
