Demons top Hammond in scrimmage

Franklinton defeated Hammond, 8-6, in a scrimmage that took place Thursday at home.
The teams ran a series of plays before finishing up with a 10-minute period.
Franklinton won the live quarter and Hammond won the series of plays.
The Demons tallied on a 7-yard run by Quaran Warren.
Franklinton scored on a 16-play drive in the live period and then stopped the Tornadoes on fourth down at Hammond’s 27.
“We saw some good things,” Franklinton coach Jonathan Barber said. “I thought for the most part, we moved the ball. We didn’t finish quite enough drives for my liking. Defensively, I thought we stopped them pretty well for the most part, but they did have one drive where they scored a touchdown when we blew some assignments. We’ll get that cleaned up.”
Franklinton plays Pine in the opening game of the 2019 Our Lady of Angels Hospital Washington Parish Jamboree that takes place Friday at Bogalusa at 6 p.m. Teams will play two 15-minute quarters
The second game is between Bogalusa and Varnado.
