Ben’s Ford Christian School’s Eagles split their jamboree games that took place Friday at Prentiss Christian School.
The Eagles defeated Prentiss Christian School, 16-0, but lost the second contest to Wilkinson County Christian Academy, 16-0.
In the jamboree, Daniel Martin threw for 133 yards and two touchdowns and he ran for a two-point conversion.
John Robert Holston caught two passes for 98 yards and a touchdown.
Trey Hartzog caught one pass for 35 yards and a touchdown. Hartzog also had a carry for six yards.
Austin Stogner had four runs for 26 yards.
Payton Miller ran for 14 yards on three carries.
“I could tell a lot of improvement between the scrimmage last week and the way we played this week,” Ben’s Ford Christian School coach Tommy Pittman said. “For the most part, the little things, we did well. We’re figuring out position-wise where they need to be.
“It was very much an improvement from the scrimmage to the jamboree. It was good work for us. Our boys are learning where they stand against the opposition.”
Ben’s Ford opens the season on Friday with a home game against Rebul Academy, which is a Class A team. Rebul went 0-9 last season.
“I don’t know a lot about them,” Pittman said. “We haven’t played them since I’ve been here. We’re hoping to have a good crowd to support our boys. We’re going to get out there and get after it. We hope for a good game Friday night.”
